Requirement for submission of articles for publication in the FEU-NRMF Journal

1. Structural & Formatting Requirements

Publishers require manuscripts to be systematically organized to ensure they can easily pass through the editorial screening and peer-review process.

The Standard Manuscript Layout

Most original scientific research follows the traditional IMRaD structure:

  • Title: concise, specific with a maximum of 25 words devoid of unnecessary abbreviations
  • Author/s: complete name/s of author/s with institutional affiliations
  • Abstract: A single, dense paragraph (usually 250-300 words) outlining the background, main objective, methods, results, and core conclusions.
  • Keywords: 3 to 10 discipline-specific terms used for indexing and database searchability.
  • Main Text: Organized cleanly into Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, and Discussion.
  • Declarations/Back Matter: Standard disclosures positioned right before the references.
  • References: Formatted strictly to the in Vancouver with valid DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) appended to every source where possible.

Document Technical Specifications

  • File Formats: Manuscripts are typically accepted as editable Microsoft Word and PDF files
  • Typography & Spacing: Follow double-spacing or 1.5-line spacing, utilizing clear heading hierarchies (limited to 3 or 4 levels), along with continuous line numbering across the entire document so reviewers can easily point out edits.
  • Visual Assets: Figures, charts, and tables must be high-resolution (typically 300+ DPI for images, or vector formats) and are often requested to be uploaded as separate files rather than embedded inside the text file during initial submission.


2. Ethical & Regulatory Declarations

  • Authorship Criteria (ICMJE Standards): To be listed as an author, individuals must have substantially contributed to the design, data collection, or analysis, helped draft/revise the intellectual content, and agreed to be fully accountable for the data’s integrity.

Note on Generative AI: AI usage must be transparently disclosed in the methodology or acknowledgements. Explicitly state that Generative AI tools and Large Language Models cannot be credited as authors, as they cannot take legal or ethical responsibility for the work.

  • Author Contributions (CRediT Taxonomy): Provide a breakdown of the contribution of each author (e.g., Author A: Conceptualization, Funding acquisition; Author B: Data curation, Formal analysis).
  • Conflicts of Interest: A mandatory statement disclosing any financial, personal, or professional relationships (like corporate sponsorships or patent holdings) that could blindly bias the research. If none exist, it must be stated and declared that the authors have no conflict of interest
  • Ethical Clearance: Attach documentation of ethical clearance or certification of ethics review exemption.


3. Metadata & Supporting Files

When logging into a journal’s submission portal, you will be prompted to submit peripheral materials alongside your paper.

  • Cover Letter: A formal letter written by the corresponding author to the Editor-in-Chief. It should briefly explain the scientific novelty of the work, state why it fits the specific scope of the journal, and explicitly declare that the manuscript is not currently under consideration anywhere else.
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate: provide current and valid GCP certification.
